We all want to have a happy life. But what is a happy life? How does it look like?

You think you have to go through every day with a smile on your face. Every day is perfect like in your fairy tales, people love each other, every person is equal and they can go dancing, partying and laughing all day. Because life is just perfect.

If you think so, you are likely to be disappointed. Because it is unlikely that such a thing happen.

In reality, your life is far from perfect.

You don’t like your job. You are trying to follow your dream but you haven’t seen any result. You are thinking of giving up because it is hurting your day job.

You don’t like your boss and your co-workers. They are mean and demanding sometimes. They don’t speak your language.

You love your family. But you have a few conflicts with them here and there. You don’t technically agree with everything they do.

You love your partner, but sometimes they just get on your nerve. You want to be kind and sweet to them but they love pressing your buttons!

Agree that your life is far from perfect, which also makes you a normal human being just like the rest. But it doesn’t mean you cannot enjoy your life.

Here are 10 ways to enjoy your life even if it is far from perfect.

1. Laugh

Even if you are tired and upset, even if you have to force yourself to smile, you still feel the difference after you laugh. Because laughter can absorb every negative thing in your life, if you can create that many laughter.

Laughter is the best medicine. Put it into action.

2. Express your gratitude every day

I’ve been practicing gratitude journal for a while. I write down at least 3 wonderful things about my day every day. And I must say, I’m a changed person.

I no longer feel resentful or unhappy before I go to bed. In contrast, I feel calm, relaxed and happy.

3. Pursue your passion

What is your deepest desire? You know, the one you’ve been dreaming about since you were just a kid and now it is still burning inside your heart?

You are stronger than you think you are. You are much more talented than you think you are. You are worthy of love, affection and success.

Go ahead, go after your dream because you owe it to the world.

4. Focus on yourself

Many of us spend too much time worrying about others, or more specifically, about how other people would think about you.

Do they think that you are not cool? Do they think your outfit is not nice enough? Do they think your voice and your posture seems to be so unconfident?

Well, you might already waste 40,000 thoughts a day worrying about things that don’t matter. Spend those thoughts on your dream your passion or your gratitude journal.

Remember this: “People who care don’t matter, and people who matter don’t care”.

5. Give yourself a break

Sometimes you think your life is far from perfect just because you think of yourself as a failure.

But, why?

Well, you want to achieve so many things in your life, and you want to have those things fast. The workload you put on yourself overwhelms you, makes you believe that your dream is impossible.

Give yourself a break. You already made it to this world, which meant you have won the toughest race in your life to reach your mom's egg, you are already a winner.

6. Give random acts of kindness

Random acts of kindness are so sweet that it spreads all over the world. How many times you feel warm and regain your faith in the human community? What do you think if you will be the one that gives away faith and demo?

Spending time on charity events and activities will help and connect with other people, create more chances to talk with other like-minded people.

7. Exercise

One great way to feel good instantly is to exercise and break a sweat. Your body will release serotonin that makes you feel good.

Besides, it really should make you feel good. Because you just did everything you could to create a good habit and long-term healthy lifestyle.

8. Celebrate every win, even the smallest one

We can easily to get lost and not track our progress. Then we become frustrated for seeing no visible result.

Keep track of your progress, celebrate every win, even the smallest one.

You do your exercise today although you are busy like crazy? You are amazing.

You just finish your vision board and you plan to follow it? You are awesome.

9. Take care of yourself (go get a massage, haircut, have sex or whatever suits you)

When you are stressful, try to take care of yourself.

Go get a massage, get a good haircut, take a good warm shower, have sex with your partner…

Whatever it is, as long as it makes you feel good without hurting your life-purpose, go for it.

10. Go to new places

You should try to go for a vacation this year, especially when the last time you did was more than 3 years.

If you go for a vacation, try to go to a new place that you haven’t been before. It will be an exciting and exploring!

I’m sure you can come up with many more ways to enjoy life.

Remember all the things you feel excited and you cannot help but grinning all day? Create more moment like that.

You see, almost all moments in your life are your creation. Whatever you think about most will appear in your life. You can create joy, happiness and success or you can create sorrow and failure.
