8 Reasons To Keep Going When Life Gets Tough

Keep going

Happiness doesn’t mean your life is smooth with no obstacles, but it means you have the ability and strength to overcome them.

Instead of feeling regret for something you’ve lost, embrace the moment and appreciate the things you have.

It is a miracle that you wake up every morning to live another day while many people are fighting for an extra second of life.

Below are some wonderful reminders to keep going when you don't feel like it.

1. No one grows up without any pain

Sometimes life closes the door behind you so that you have no other choice but going forward. And it’s a good thing because we often hesitate unless we are forced to take action.

When life gets rough, tell yourself that there is a higher reason behind the challenges and pain that you are facing. Learn to move past them, leave them behind but carry the lessons they teach you.

When it is hard, it doesn’t mean that you are failing.

Every success requires a great deal of commitment and sacrifices. Great things don’t come easily. Be patient and positive.

Remember there are two types of pain: one type that hurts you and one type that changes you. And the good thing is, you are the one to decide which type your pain belongs to.

Don’t try to fight them. Accept them, change yourself and move on.

2. Everything is temporary

The rain will stop. The wound will be healed. The sun will rise after the darkness. Don’t even think that you will be in the darkness forever. Nothing lasts forever.

Appreciate all the things you are having, because they don’t last forever. And don’t spend your energy into worrying about the unexpected because they don’t last

Life is not easy sometimes. You will face many difficulties and challenges, but it doesn’t mean you cannot smile today. God has a better plan for you. Every moment gives you a new beginning and a new ending.

Every second is another chance. Just take your chances and get the most out of them.

3. Worry and complaints don’t work

People who complain the most are the ones who do the least. Because they choose to spend their energy on their complaints but trying.

If you don’t do something, don’t complain why it doesn’t look the way you want. If your life is not perfect but you don’t do anything to change it, it won’t change.

If you believe in something, keep trying. Don’t let the darkness of the past failures and painful experience to cover your future path.

You can spend all day today to complain about yesterday, but it won’t change what will happen tomorrow. You have to act.

You have read so many self-development articles, how to improve your life, how to achieve a higher state of life, then apply them to your life. Turn them from theory into reality. Even if you fail, at least you could say that you’ve done everything you could, rather than wondering if they would work forever.

Happiness comes when you no longer focus on your problems and start appreciating for not having other problems.

4. Scars are symbols of strength

Life will leave you many scars. Every time you failed, every time you hurt, you got a scar. A scar means the wound has been healed and you’ve moved on. It means you’ve conquered life challenges, learned new lessons, become stronger and moved forward.

Scars of life are tattoos of victory.

You cannot make your scars disappear, but you can change the way you perceive them.

“The wound is where the lights come in”.

Start seeing your scars as the symbols of strength, not the marks of pain. Pain and darkness are the toughest school for strongest souls. All the successful people in the world are full of scars and wounds, both physically and mentally.

Let your scars scream to the world on your behalf, “I’ve made it! I’ve overcome these challenges and I have these scars to prove it. And now I am stronger, I have a bigger change to improve myself”.

5. Every small win counts

One of the best lessons life teaches you is patience. Patience is not waiting, it is more than that. Patience is how you maintain a positive attitude while chasing your dreams.

When you decide to try, spend all of your time and go for it all the way to the end of the road. If you cannot stay on the bridge until you get to the other side, don’t start.

Staying on the bridge is not easy. It doesn’t only require you to stay still. You have to keep going forward even when there is a storm and the bridge is shaking. Sometimes you have to crawl to move forward.

You will have to sacrifice your relationships, your free time with friends and alone time sitting in a corner of your favorite coffee. Sometimes you have to deal with mocks and naysayers.

And you will be lonely. Because you are meant for more, you are meant to be outstanding and different. No one can keep up with you on your path. But it is not a bad thing, because it will give you space and quiet you need.

All you need to do is to decide. If you want to do it, if you decide to do it, you will do it, no matter how many times you fail, how many times you get hurt or how conflicts you feel. You will learn that there is no road, but you have to build one yourself, from all the daily battles.

But they will be worth it.

6. You don’t need to worry about other people

When other people try to drown you with negativity, fight back with your positivity. Smile when someone tries to push you down.

You don’t become better and smarter if you try to give them negativity. Because negativity costs energy, your valuable energy that should be spent somewhere else.

Don’t let other people’s ugliness changes you. They treat you badly not because of who you are or what you do, but because of their own problems.

Most importantly, don’t change yourself to win people’s affection, to impress them just because you want to have a sense of belonging. If you belong to the top 2% best achievers, you don’t get along well with the rest.

Change yourself if that change completes you and makes you a better person.

No matter how perfect you are, people will judge you. So save yourself some energy and stop wasting them on what’s going on inside others’ heads. Think of yourself first. If you believe in something, fight for it.

You only live once. Do things that make you happy, and be around people who make you smile.

7. What has to come will come

Every day we get up, we die a little. It is not negative, it is just how time works. It is life.

Stop being scared, stop complaining, smile and embrace the moment. That’s the real strength.

There is always luck in every fight you encounter, but you will never find it unless you open your heart and mind. Don’t force anything. What has to come will come.

Life is a long journey. You will believe in your intuition, take chances, lose and find happiness, love your memories and learn through experience. All of them will happen. You cannot avoid it.

Stop doubting every step, open your heart, open your mind and enjoy your journey.

You might not get where you want, but you will get to where you need to be eventually.

8. The best thing you can do is to keep going

Don’t be ashamed of asking for help. Don’t hesitate to fall in love once again. Don’t let the wounds inside you turn your heart into a rock. Find your motives to smile every day, and make someone smiles.

You don’t need one thousand people in your life, you only need a few people who really matter to you.

Be strong when life is hard.

Accept your mistakes and learn from them. Keep track of your progress and see how much you’ve grown.

Keep your head up high and be proud of who you’ve become. Don’t change because of anyone, unless you want to change.

Be yourself. Keep growing. Keep moving forward.
